Fall is quickly approaching. With it comes a renewed commitment to after-school activities, busier work schedules, and tons more on our plates! This is why creating a magical family command center in different areas of the home is a great idea.

If you’re unfamiliar with the concept, here’s what it means. A command center is the hub where decisions are made, important things are stored, and a place where everyone (in this case, families) can find what they need to perform at their top capacity.

Many of us may already be familiar with this concept. A family calendar, mail basket, and coat hooks could make up a command center in your mudroom or near the back door. The great thing is that this concept can be used in a variety of rooms around the house. This post has a wealth of ideas for creating command centers in each room of your home. Take a look!

Main Exit

The main exit that you use to go to your car is a great place for this first type of command center. It’s a wonderful place to outdoor gear, this dry erase calendar can help to keep track of everyone’s daily schedule, this hanging divided sorter is a great way to manage mail, and a variety of baskets can hold essentials like soccer gear or sunscreen.

Bedroom

Many of us have evening routines that need to be completed before we can drift off to sleep. A bedroom command center is the perfect pace to ensure you can go to sleep peacefully. We love keeping these things in a nightstand or bedside table like this one. A water bottle for middle of the night hydration is a great idea. We always keep some lip balm, hand lotion, nighttime vitamins and supplements, and a current book on our nightstand as well. This pillow spray is a perfect way to reap the rewards of aromatherapy to help you drift off to sleep quickly.

Kitchen

The kitchen is a family hub for everyone. The refrigerator can become a command center for many of us. We love this hanging menu board for making it easy to see what’s for dinner each night of the week. This magnetic fridge shelf can organize items to make cooking a breeze. If your family tends to toss important documents on the refrigerator and they get lost, this magnetic clip can solve this problem once and for all!

Bathroom

Creating a bathroom command center is a great idea to make morning routines go quicker for everyone. Create a basket with kids’ hair supplies for school days. Hair ties kept on a circular binder ring can save hours of searching. An acrylic organizer for makeup can shave several minutes off of a morning routine.

Office

Your office is your home for the entirety of the workweek. Creating some physical command centers can clear your mind to make it easier to tackle your weekly work. This organizer will create a place to sort files, mail, and even hold your office supplies. We also love this spinning organizer to store desk snacks.
