Wipe Down Surfaces for 5 Minutes: If you spend just five minutes wiping down surfaces, you’ll be amazed at how much cleaner your home looks. Lightswitch covers, doors, and cabinets could also use a quick clean. Try using a mixture of 1 gallon of hot water, 1 tablespoon of bleach, and 1 tablespoon of powdered Tide laundry detergent with a microfiber cloth. This mixture will remove grime and disinfect surfaces.
Deodorize With Ease- Adding charcoal sachets to your spaces will naturally deodorize spaces without the use of chemicals. Simply place these cloth sachets into discreet corners and notice your rooms smell fresher within hours.
Save Time With a Squeegee- Wiping down glass shower doors with a rubber squeegee between showers is a great way to keep soap scum at bay. By removing excess water and soaps from glass surfaces, build up is less likely to happen and you will be left with clean shower doors with minimal effort.
Stamp Out Toilet Yuck: These little gel stamps are an easy way to keep your toilet clean without much effort. The cleaning solution keeps your toilet bowl clean and makes the whole bathroom smell fresh.
Get Rid of Drain Gunk: Quickly make your kitchen or bathroom feel cleaner by cleaning drains with this solution you likely have on hand. Pour ½ cup of baking soda down a drain followed by ½ cup of white vinegar. After a couple of minutes, flush the drain with hot water.
Clean the Walls: Yep, we said “clean the walls”. Trust us, it’ll be quick! Walls and upper corners can attract dust and cobwebs and rarely get cleaned. Try using a Swiffer mop to sweep the walls. (We love to use the pet hair specific cloths for this job.) You’ll be able to reach high spots easily and remove that pesky dust quickly. Plus, the special cloths will trap the dust so you can toss it away after cleaning.
Invest in a Friendly Robot: Vacuuming is hard. Automate the process by investing in a robot vacuum. The prices are much lower and the technology is even more advanced. Many models allow you to operate them from your phone or schedule them ahead of time. Spending less time on this chore will allow you tons of freedom to do other quick projects.
Refresh Your Mattresses: Eliminate odors and kill unwanted allergens by sprinkling some baking soda on your mattress. Let it sit for a few hours and vacuum away. This will vacuum up any dust mites or allergens and the baking soda will absorb any funky smells that might be hiding in your mattress.
Clean Lampshades With Ease: If you have lampshades that are covered with dust, you might be unsure of how to clean them. Try using a sticky lint roller gently rolled over the shade to remove the dust. Repeat with a couple of clean sticky sheets until the shade is dust free. This 5 minute task will make your whole room look cleaner.
While spring cleaning might feel overwhelming, there are some easy ways to make the task a whole lot easier employing some quick five minute tasks. We’d love to hear from you- how do you make spring cleaning less of a chore?
