Homeowners Spring Maintenance Tips
The warmer weather that spring brings our way provides homeowners in Eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey the perfect opportunity to get outside and not only enjoy the fresh air, but to take the time to spruce some things up around the house.
From the outside to the inside of your home, here are a few spring home maintenance tips:
Outside
- Inspect your home’s roof for any damage that may have occurred as a result of the weather over the winter months.
- Remove any debris from your gutters that may have built up over the last few months and clean out the downspouts.
- Remove any down tree branches from your yard.
- Trim your home’s trees and bushes so that they are not in the path of any walkways or near utility wires.
- Inspect your driveway and walkways for any cracked or unevenness that may need to be repaired.
Inside
- The weather can quickly turn warm and you will be using your air-conditioner before you know it. Now is the time to have it inspected by a professional.
- Inspect your home’s water heater for any leaks or corrosion that may be occurring.
- Replace your furnace filter.
- If the gap around your window and doors is larger than the width of a nickel remove the old caulk and reapply with new caulk.
These are just a few things to look for and repair in your home during this time of year. Most of all take the time to get out and enjoy the warmer weather.
